A Billion Entrepreneures

I feel so honored to be able to be included in getting the word out about this! I have always dreamed of owning my own business, Im not sharing because right now its still a dream!

A Billion Entrepreneurs is a movement with the objective to plant the seed of entrepreneurship into multiple generations and re-define the word, “entrepreneurship” to mean, “Taking responsibility for outcomes,” which means taking responsibility for one’s life and current situation. So with that,  the movie was created!
The Movie is an inspiring, feature-length documentary film where they follow real-life entrepreneurs, as they leave a trail of impact, inspiration, mentorship, and responsibility in their business and personal lives which has an effect on countless people.  The film includes people like Adrienne, Brian, Fritzi, Ken (and his daughters), Pam, Rand, and Rick. These fascinating people will take you through a fast-paced education on what it’s like to be entrepreneurs in the real world. The purpose of the film is to inspire viewers, and allow them to understand how accessible and invigorating being an entrepreneur can really be. The goal is for the viewer be a converted fan to the spirit and contagion of entrepreneurship, regardless of their background. One of the film’s objectives is for you to say to yourself after watching the film, “I can do this!

Right now they are running a funding project and they are offering "Perks" with donations levels!

Food with Hood Sour Cream

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Hood. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”

One of my families favorite foods.....TACO's! I don't mean ones from the famous taco places or frozen and microwaved or stuff like that. We make ours from the ground beef up.  Here is how we make ours. Keep in mind we make double recipes because of how many are eating and the fact 3 are teenagers means we need more!

NEED:   2.5 lbs ground beef (85% works best for us)
             2 packages Taco Seasoning
2 packages shredded cheese (we use taco blend)
             Hood Sour Cream
diced tomatoes (we use canned no salt added with green chili peppers)
shredded lettuce (we buy a whole head and shred ourselves)
taco shells (we use whole wheat flour tortillas and hard taco shells)

Brown the ground beef on the stove in a large frying pan. When browned, add the packages of taco seasoning and the amount of water as stated on the package. Bring to a boil and stir until thickened. Lay out shells or wraps and dollop sour cream on the center and spread out. Then add ground beef. Layer with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese as desired. I eat mine in bowls. I crush the taco shells and add the rest of the ingredients on top and top it off with the sour cream. Here is my bowl:

We use Hood Sour Cream because it keeps flavor longer and we think taste better than other brands! We have used others in the past and they become runny. Hood keeps the firm texture and doesn't run even with the warm meat.
Another favorite is Chili! My husband loves Chili! He likes my dads and I have posted it on here before but here it is again!

NEED: 1//2 lb ground beef (browned)
1 can chili beans (we use light red kidney)
             1 can diced tomatoes
(we use petite diced with green chili peppers)
             chili powder (to taste)
             salt and pepper (to taste)
1 small onion, diced (to your own personal size)
             dash of garlic
             1 package shredded cheddar cheese
             Hood Sour Cream

Place all of the above in a slow cooker, we use crock a baby. Heat for 2 hours on high. I do suggest browning the beef before putting it in as to kill off the bacteria and such. When serving, sprinkle with shredded cheese and top off with a large dollop of sour cream. Heres my bowl of chili:

These are 2 of my families favorites using Hood Sour Cream. I don't cook from a box or a mix when I make our favorite comfort foods. I love eating something I have made from scratch and we all like. Plus I know whats in it! Its all natural with no preservatives or "fake" ingredients. My most favorite memory of my family having chili was the year before my dad passed away. He had come to visit and stayed for dinner. I had made his chili as a surprise and boy did it! After the kids went to bed we had seconds and we talked until early am about my growing up and his life. Those are the moments I can never get back but will cherish forever.
But I don't use just any Sour Cream either. As a Mainer I know Hood Products and that's all I use! The best part is the Sour Cream is Light, which means 50% less fat and 1/3 of the calories of regular Sour Cream. And with a company that has been making products for over 160 years, you know they have it right!

You can visit Hood by going HERE. There you will find money saving coupons, recipes and tips!

Agnitus, fun Preschool learining for kids!

"This post was created in partnership with eAccountable. All opinions are my own."
Children are naturally creative and they learn through play by seeing, touching, hearing, and doing. How many times do you have to tell them don't touch this and don't touch that? That is a way of them learning!
These games are designed by education and technology experts. Agnitus ensures mastery of fundamental preschool and kindergarten skills.
Plans are $6.99 a month, now that's a deal! And you can cancel at anytime.
As a mom of twins, one of them special needs, I really liked this app! It was hard enough to pose a bit of a challenge to one and it was easy enough to not start a conflict or tantrum with the other. It was basic learning at a level they could actually learn. Not preachy like a teacher but fun like a computer or video game.

Get crafty with Borax and win!

I love using Borax! Not only do I use it to treat stubborn stains, I also use it to clean drains, trashcans and spots on the carpet. But did you know you can craft with it too? There as so many things you can make and Borax is now having a craft contest on Pintrest!

Get crafty with 20 Team Mule Borax. There are so many ways 20 Mule Team® Borax can help beautify your home, learn how to get crafty and get entered to WIN $500!

Here is our creation:
No laughs, no judgements! I am not Borax Craft Gifted I guess! But hey, we cant all be domestic goddesses all the time!!

Decorate your house with borax formations. Start by creating the desired shape of the formation with pipe cleaners. Twist the pipe cleaners together to make any shape imaginable. Remember to make sure the shape will fit inside the jar that will be used. Now, attach a piece of string to the top of the pipe cleaners and tie the other end to a pencil or an object that can be used to hang from the jar. Next, fill a wide-mouth jar with boiling water (be careful and make sure not to touch the boiling water). Mix borax into the water one tablespoon at a time. Stir until the borax is dissolved. It is okay if some undissolved borax settles to the bottom of the jar. Use 3 tablespoons of borax for each cup of water.

Optional: If desired, add food coloring to change the color of the formation.

Insert the pipe cleaner formation into the jar so that the pencil rests on top of the lip of the jar and the formation is freely suspended in the borax solution. Now all you have to do is wait overnight and by morning the formation will be covered with shiny crystals. Borax formations make great ornaments during the winter time. Also when it’s sunny outside hang it by the window as a sun-catcher.

Dissolve 1 tablespoon of table salt and 3 tablespoons of 20 Mule Team Borax in one cup of warm water. Soak heavy twine, such as butcher’s twine for large candles, in the solution for at least 24 hours. Allow twine to thoroughly dry before using to make candles.

Preserve Fresh Flowers

Two different mixtures (by weight) are recommended: two parts 20 Mule Team Borax and one part dry white sand, or one part 20 Mule Team Borax and two parts corn meal.

Begin by cutting flowers which are as free from surface moisture as possible. The stem may be left attached or removed below base of the calyx. (Calyx is the green leafy part of the flower—a cup-like area above the stem.) Sprinkle Borax mixture into an empty box (a shoe box is ideal) and place flower and leaves, if desired, on the mixture. Gently cover the flower with additional mixture, being careful not to crush or distort the petals. Some flowers that have a large number of overlapping petals, such as roses and carnations, are best treated by sprinkling mixture directly into the blossom before placing them into the box. When completely covered, there should be no air space around the flower. For easy removal, use two flowers per box maximum, depending on flower size. Seal the box with tape and store at room temperature in a dry place for seven to ten days. (Experimentation will perhaps shorten this waiting period by several days depending on climate and type of flower.)

After flowers are dried, remove by slowly pouring the mixture from the box until enough of the flower appears and can be secured with two fingers. Pour off remaining mixture until flower can be removed without damage. Clean off any clinging materials with a soft artist’s brush. Whole petals which have been broken off may be glued back in place.

"The above information was taken off the Borax website. I have edited it to make sure it fit into the blog and to shorten it so you don't get to board reading it! "

New mommies, and their loved ones, please read and share!

This morning while I was on Facebook I saw a post on a new mom who was beyond overwhelmed on the birth of her twins. As a mom of twins, I can relate so well. One baby is hard enough. But two?! Two is a whole different story! Any new mom and dad can be floored with one baby screaming and crying and pooping and such, but two at a time is a whole different life game! Who gets fed first? Who gets changed first? When you finally get done one task with one, you have to repeat with the other! PHEW!!!!

But this isn't about having one, two or three babies at a time. Its about the after effects of having a baby or babies. That's not something people really talk about and there are a lot of changes. One statistic says that more divorces happen after the birth of a child because the parents didn't know how to deal well with the changes. I am so blessed to be with a very supportive and understanding man. He and I have worked through the birth of 6 children including a set of twins. He was with me through Post Partum Depression, 3 times over. Yes, you can feel sorry for him! I do, now.

The physical changes are the most noticeable.  Sweating, bad cramping (even after lochia stops), weight loss, skin changes, loosing hair and tiredness. These can happen up to 4-5 months after birth. Thank all the hormones returning to normal, what ever that is, for that!

The mental changes, not so noticeable. The three biggies are The Baby Blues, Post Partum Depression and Post Partum Psychosis.

THE BABY BLUES: This is generally hormonal and strikes between 48 and 72 hours after you give birth lasting up to two weeks postpartum. SIGNS:  crying, irritability, anger, exhaustion, tension, restlessness, anxiety, and possibly insomnia. This can happen to anyone!

POST PARTUM DEPRESSION: A smaller group of  women will have postpartum depression. This is shown by a worsening of the normal symptoms, possibly postpartum panic or mania, even obsessive-compulsive disorders (repetitive thoughts that might be repulsive). Some women will even experience post traumatic stress disorders after a traumatic birth.

POST PARTUM PSYCHOSIS: This is the one I call the biggie! Some will go to the far extreme of Post Partum Depression, postpartum psychosis. This is normally seen with most of the previous symptoms, plus hallucinations, confusion or delusions, suicidal thoughts and visions or thoughts of harming their children. This is very serious and requires immediate attention for the safety of the mother and the baby.

Another thing to remember. Dads are going through changes as well. No longer is it just him and you. Now its a family. And he's the main caretaker of all of you. He might forget how overwhelmed the new momma is because he's fretting and overwhelmed himself. Share how you feel and don't be afraid to be honest. Make sure to tell him you still love him. Remember all those things you said in the delivery room???? Then ask him how he is. Don't be afraid! You are a unit raising little people!

And don't be afraid to be honest when loved ones ask how are you doing? Those closest to you really do care! And take up on those offers of help. Who knows when you might feel like doing laundry or cooking a meal again!

NOTE TO DADS: I fully get your overwhelmed yourself. But keeping busy at work, when you don't have to be there, of hiding out at a club or bar or another friends is not going to help! Let her know you think she still attractive, that you love her and the child(ren) and kiss her! Take a feeding or a changing. Do laundry or dishes. Most of all, make sure she knows you are there for her. Took 2 to make that baby after all!

I know parts of this wont apply to some as they are single moms. New moms are new moms and single moms need a good support. No matter if they are with a partner, male or female or alone. Grandparents, best friends, neighbor's are all in on helping new moms! Talk to those you love and trust.

And finally. New dads who have to fill the mom's role, for whatever reason, can suffer from the Baby Blues as well. Although it isn't hormonal in nature, any new parent can get blue and overwhelmed.

As always, I welcome any and all comments on my post.

Missy Mila Review and Giveaway!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Mila is an 8-year-old quirky, energetic tomboy who loves to tell you traditional story-tales but with her own twist. Kids will be inspired to use their imagination and to become storytellers themselves. Audience participation is triggered by Mila's direct-to-camera asides all along the episode; her questions and games bring kids right into the story. Join Mila, laugh at the zany dialogs and fresh art in this innovative series which explores the world of classic tales.

Traditional tales are timeless stories that everyone loves to delve back into, generation after generation. Far from old-fashioned clich├ęs, the series “Missy Mila: Twisted Tales” revamps this cultural heritage through the imagination and spontaneity of a present-day little girl. Mila’s stories are peppered with spicy anachronisms and offbeat re-interpretations. So, don’t act surprised if you see a prince applying hair gel before setting out to rescue a princess, unless the latter is a kung-fu champion, that is! As for the dreadful Minotaur, Mila prefers to picture him as the Toupouloupou, a sweetie pie with a sweet tooth. And why do the wolves always have to be depicted as the bad guys?

In her very personal adaptation of the Three Little Pigs, Mila swaps the awfully shy big bad wolf for an affable bull that… rocks!

Missy Mila Volume 1 includes the episodes: The Hidden Princess, The Toupouloupou, Baba Yaga the Witch, Djoha’s Last Lie, Piboule and the Bear, Strabiwolf the Telltale, the Donkey and the King, The Houses of the Pig Brothers, Elvis, Captain Bloody-Nose the Pirate, The Leprechaun’s Treasure, Aurel the Mocker, Pancho Pimento’s Riddle. Retail Value $19.95

I watched the entire video with my twin boys who are 5 and my 8 yo daughter. One of my sons is on the Spectrum so he looses interest in things pretty fast. He made it through 2 episodes. My daughter loved the energy and Missy's hair! I had wondered about the witch in one of the episodes but I had nothing to fear! She was made to be feared and liked all in one.

The people who sent me a copy are offering to send one of my readers a copy as well! Use the easy entry form below to enter and GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
