*SOULMATE: A person with whom you have an immediate connection the moment you meet -- a connection so strong that you are drawn to them in a way you have never experienced before. As this connection develops over time, you experience a love so deep, strong and complex, that you begin to doubt that you have ever truly loved anyone prior. Your soulmate understands and connects with you in every way and on every level, which brings a sense of peace, calmness and happiness when you are around them. And when you are not around them, you are all that much more aware of the harshness of life, and how bonding with another person in this way is the most significant and satisfying thing you will experience in your lifetime. You are also all that much aware of the beauty in life, because you have been given a great gift and will always be thankful.*
*URBAN Dictionary
I admit, I felt I had a connection with my husband the first time I met him. He was in my thoughts all the time, even at work. When I saw him a second time, it was still a WOW moment. When we started to exchange letters, he lived over 6 hours away, he stole my heart! I wasn't sure at the time, but after almost 20 years, I'm positive he's my other half and I would be incomplete without him.
That's love. Complete love. But I don't think he's my complete soulmate, yet. I feel that's something that truly happens over time where you become so connected to someone you are threaded to them fully and emotionally, completely.
I may be wrong, I may be right, who really knows.
So here's my question:

Instant POW! Or all we striving for something unattainable? Or does it really take time to happen?
I believe we all have soulmates, but there are lifetimes wherein we don't get to spend our lives with them. I can't really tell if it's an instantaneous feeling or if it takes time, but we each have our soulmates and they're somewhere out there, waiting to meet us.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on the person. My husband and I were friends for months before we started dating but we always had a spark.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about soulmates, but I do know that God has a specific person in mind for each of us. I believe that wholeheartedly!!
