Maine winters can be horrid! Today we prep for the next storm, due tonight. A blizzard! Yippee!! I hate snow. I hate blizzards! But if you live in New England you sorta get used to this crap! But if you have never prepared for this kind of storm before, here's 3 things that you might need. Ok, you do need, to have in your ownership!
Not only these but you need candles, food you can eat without cooking, burning wood, a grill, or something to cook in outside if you loose power. Make sure your phones are charged and your laptop, if you have one. Any devises you can download movies or tv shows to should be charged and have content on them you dont need wi-fi for. Plenty of blankets and if you have not already, check for cold leaks around doors and windows.
And dont forget to check on your elderly and alone neighbors before, during and after a major storm. Bring them something to eat if the power goes out because they might not have prepared like you did! And if no power, and you have heat aka a pellett stove or fireplace, offer the elderly a place to visit to get warm! If they refuse, persist and if they still refuse offer to leave an extra blanket! We need to take care of our older neighbors!
