"The question is not if attempts will be made to limit religious freedoms, but when."
John Luther just wants to share the Gospel and enjoy a quiet life with his family. He never asked or wanted to be in the center of a political controversy, but the supporters of a new religious equality bill see his endorsement as critical. When he refuses to give his support his life is turned upside down as he becomes a fugitive trying to expose the truth.
I have read MANY religious based books. I have read the entire Left Behind series several times over. I have also read most of the teen based books of the same name. This is different. This book takes a current look and approach to the attacks made of religious freedom today. It is a very believable scenario and the reader is sure to see the characters in their mind as they read. It is encouraging, even tho it is a book, to see a man of the bible stick to the gospel and not sell out to a political agenda. The world needs more real life people like John Luther.
My favorite quote in the entire book is the following:
"I cannot water down the Gospel to advance anybody's political agenda."
John Luther, ch. 4 pg. 29.
This book is based on the movie of the same name which is due to be released soon.
I enjoyed reading this book. I read it over the course of 2 days and I look forward to viewing the movie.
