ReplyDeleteThe best memory I have of my dad is when him and I danced together at my wedding for the farther and daughter dance. Him and I were the only ones on the dance floor and it is the first time i ever saw him with tears in his eyes.

ReplyDeleteMy Dad died when I was young. However, one good memory of my Dad was when he bought me a Mrs. Beasley Doll as a surprise. He had told me that they had sold out of them at the store and then gave it to me when we got home.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite memories of my Dad is when we use to spend our summers going to the lake. My Grandfather had a place and we all would be there. My Dad taught me to swim there and to help me learn to hold my breath, we would have a "tea party" under water, some wonderful memories! :)

One of my favorite memories is going next door to see our grand parents every day, getting to have one treat (2 oreos/pecan sandies/fig newtons or a bowl of popcorn), and just talking. Sometimes we would do logic puzzles or riddles. Sometimes just talk. Other days we would garden and they would teach all about different kinds of plants. It was wonderful to know they were always there. My grandpa even walked me down the aisle when I got married.

ReplyDeleteMy dad loved chocolate covered cherries and I'd get him a box for every occasion along with something else. I'd put the candy in all shapes and sizes of packages trying to fool him into thinking that I hadn't gotten him any, but he always picked up his packages, shook them, smiled and said " these are my chocolate covered cherries" and he was always correct. Guess he figured that time after time, those candies were there somewhere.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite memories of my Dad is when he walked me down the aisle at my wedding 11 years ago. He started crying the minute he saw me and made me start crying. Now that he has passed away (four years ago) I can look at my wedding photos and remember how happy that day was and how blessed I am that he was able to share it with me.

ReplyDeleteOne winter I was sleeping on the couch at my Aunt's cottage and wouldn't get up in the morning. My dad dragged me and my sleeping bag off the couch and outside in the snow. There was a hill outside and I ending up slidding down it still in my sleeping bag. My mom made him drag me back up the hill but he was laughing too hard and ended up slipping and I went down again.
